Introduction to Sanqingshan Geo-Museum
Sanqingshan Geo-Museum is located in Yinhuwan Ecological Village in the eastern part of Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark. It covers an area of 35000 square meters, with a total construction area of 6256 square meters.
The main building adopts the design concept of the collision between the Cathaysia Plate and the Yangtze Plate, highlighting the geological evolution characteristics of Sanqingshan and presenting a striking visual impact. Centering on the value of Sanqingshan’s geoheritage, the museum fully showcases biodiversity, Taoist culture and folk customs of the area. As a large-scale museum, it is dedicated to science popularization and integrates scientific, ornamental values and entertainment.
With an exhibition area of approximately 3000 square meters, the museum houses 10 exhibition halls, including the Impression Sanqingshan Hall, Earth Mysteries Hall, Geological Evolution Hall, Beautiful Sanqingshan Hall, Granite Garden Hall, Ecological Wonders Hall, Green Kingdom Hall, Taoist Sacred Land Hall, Ancient Folk Customs Hall, and Protection and Development Hall, as well as a Judicial Education Base for Ecological Environment. It also offers a popular science classroom and regularly hosts geoscience popularization activities.
