Global Geoparks Network

Founded in 2004, the Global Geoparks Network is an international professional organization under UNESCO, composed of Geoparks and professionals from around the world, operating on a non-profit basis.

The core goal of the Global Geoparks Network is to explore effective ways to combine earth heritage conservation with regional economic sustainable development, and to establish recognized practical guidelines and quality standards for relevant countries and regions. As the official cooperative platform for all UNESCO Global Geoparks, the network integrates resources from regional networks such as Asia Pacific (APGN), Europe (EGN), Latin America and the Caribbean (GeoLAC), and Africa (AUGGN), breaking regional barriers and promoting the sharing of experiences and collaborative progress in conservation, management, and development of Global Geoparks worldwide.
