From May 11 to 14, 2012, the Sanqing Mountain Geopark sent personnel to the Unzen Volcano World Geopark in Nagasaki, Japan to participate in the 5th UNESCO International Geoparks Conference.
On December 7, 2022, the 2022 China UNESCO Global Geoparks Annual Conference was held in Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan. Due to the impact of the pandemic, this year's conference was held in a combined online and offline format for the first time, with the main venue set at Xiangxi Global Geopark. Sanqing Mountain Global Geopark was invited to participate in this grand event, joining 41 Chinese Global Geoparks nationwide, 7 candidate geoparks, and experts and scholars from various industries both online and offline to discuss the construction and development of Global Geoparks under the new circumstances.
From December 14 to 16, 2021, the 9th UNESCO Global Geoparks Conference was held at Jeju Island Global Geopark in South Korea. Due to the pandemic, the conference was held in both online and offline formats.
From April 26 to 28, 2021, the unveiling ceremony of Yimengshan Global Geopark and the seminar on the construction and development of global geoparks were held at Yimengshan Global Geopark. In order to continuously strengthen cooperation and exchange among global geoparks and to learn from each other’s management and protection experiences, Sanqingshan Global Geopark sent representatives to participate in this seminar.
On November 17, 2020, the first GGN Digital Forum was held online from 12:00 to 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time (20:00 to 22:00 Beijing Time). The GGN Executive Committee invited official representatives of all GGN institutional members, GGN individual members, and GGN honorary members to participate. More than 200 people attended the meeting, involving multiple countries, with representatives from 41 Chinese World Geoparks attending. The meeting discussed the GGN activity report from January to September 2018, Geoparks and COVID-19, resilient areas, digital activities of Geoparks, and other topics. Jin Xiaoji, a representative of the Asia Pacific Geoparks Network, spoke at the conference.
On October 27-28, 2020, the 2020 UNESCO Global Geoparks Annual Meeting of China was held in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. Over 200 people attended the meeting, including representatives from 41 global geoparks and their administrative departments, as well as geopark experts and scholars. Representatives from Sanqingshan Global Geopark participated in the meeting.
