After three years of investigation and evidence collection, the climbing case on the Giant Python Peak of Sanqingshan was pronounced on December 30, 2019.It became the nation’s first civil public interest litigation case involving the intentional damage to natural heritage and places of scenic and historic interest.
The handling of this case reflects the judicial orientation of safeguarding natural heritage, and sets a leading example for geoconservation. For this purpose, the museum has specially established a Judicial Education Base for Ecological and Environmental Protection to present the case in detail.
