In the middle of July 2017, the sister park of Mount Sanqing - Spain's Vijolcas Ibor Hara World Geopark hosted the launch of the international science popularization education project "I AM A GEOPARKER" in Guadalupe, Spain.

The launch event lasted for three days, and dozens of representatives from China, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania, Mexico and other countries attended the event. Dr. Xu Kejian from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) attended the event on behalf of the Mount Sanqing World Geopark. During the event, representatives jointly discussed the implementation details of the project, showcased different educational methods and tourism experiences in the areas where various parks are located through workshop roundtable meetings, participated in the opening ceremony of the Heritage Interpretation Summer Course at the University of Extremadura in Spain for the purpose of education and sustainable tourism, and inspected the primary school, interpretation center, and mining park in the Vij õ orcas Ib õ r á Geopark in Spain.

This activity defines' geopark people 'as storytellers of Earth's historical stories, aiming to guide local community residents, college students, and primary and secondary school students to spontaneously promote geoparks through the activity, enhance the visibility of geoparks, and participate in the construction of geoparks. Mount Sanqing will also launch the international science popularization activity of "I am a geopark person" in September to conduct science popularization interpretation training for primary and secondary school students in the park, encourage students to tell the earth history story of Mount Sanqing World Geopark through video, publicize Mount Sanqing and science popularization Mount Sanqing, enrich their after-school life, increase their love for the mountain, and train them to become Mount Sanqing geopark people.
