April 22 is the 51st World Earth Day. To better popularize the scientific value of the Earth to the public, deepen people's understanding of the natural ecological environment, and encourage people to cherish the earthas our homeland, Sanqingshan UGGp, at the invitation of Danxiashan UGGp and Yandangshan UGGp, participated in the " Sister Geoparks Joint Exhibitions&Interaction" activity jointly held by 12 well-known national geoparks.

The Geopark held such theme activities at Jinsha Tourist Plaza, Xiaoyao Valley area and other venues, including the "Beauty of the Earth - Joint Photography Exhibition of Sister Geoparks" and "Geopark's Tickets for You – Quiz on Geoscience Knowledge ". The public could enjoy the beautiful scenery of the 12 geoparks through pictures and videos, and receive brochures on popular science.By taking part in the quiz, they could win free tickets to various geoparks and distinctive souvenirs from other geoparks. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, visitors also learned geological knowledge and explored the mysteries of the earth.

The activity has received strong support and carefulguidance fromUNESCO, GGN, the Asia Pacific Geoparks Network and the National Geoparks Network Center. During the anti-epidemic period, the geoparks participating in this activity will, in accordance with the theme "Cherishing the Earth: Harmonious Coexistence between Human and Nature",combinewith their own resource characteristics to popularize geoscientific knowledge, introduce the precious value of geoparks and their achievements in protection and development, tellthe stories ofnatural reserves in China, and guide the public to establish the concepts of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are as invaluable as gold and silver " and "harmony between humanity and nature". The activity aims to inspore public’s ecological awareness of getting close to nature, understanding nature and protecting nature, foster a strong atmosphere of protecting natural resources across society, and raise public environmental awareness for protecting the earth.

Participation in this activity were 10 UGGps, including Huangshan UGGp, Danxiashan UGGp, Yandangshan UGGp, Lushan UGGp, Taishan UGGp, Zhangjiajie UGGp, Sanqingshan UGGp, Leye-Fengshan UGGp, Leiqiong UGGp, Jiuhuashan UGGp, as well as 2 candidate sites forUGGp, Xiangxi Geopark and Longyan Geopark The 12 geoparks span across eastern, western, northern and southern China, boasting a rich vatiety of geological and geomorphic landscapes, including granite landscapes, Danxia landscapes, volcaniclandscapes, sandstone peak forestlandscapes, and karst landscapes, etc., bringing a unique science popularization feast to the public.
