On April 1st , a delegation led by Wang Ying, Vice Chairperson of the Dali Prefectural Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) .
The delegation also included Wang Jianguo, Deputy Director of Dali Cangshan UGGp Administration Bureau, Yang Xuexian, Director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the Dali Prefectural CPPCC, and Chang Jixiong, Deputy Magistrate of Yingyi County, Dali Prefecture.
The two sides exchanged views and learned from each other’s advanced concepts and best practices in geopark conservation and management, planning and construction, as well as science education.
Accompanied by Zhou Chong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sanqingshan Scenic Area, and officials from the Geopark Administration Bureau, the delegation conducted on-site inspections of the core area of Sanqingshan UGGp, the Sanqingshan Geological Museum, Sanqingshan School, and the Immortal Valley Area. They gained an in-depth understanding of granite landforms, biodiversity, tourism development, science education and other related work.

During the inspection, the two geoparks jointly signed a friendship and cooperation agreement and officially established a sister geopark relationship. They will carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in geoheritage management, science popularization and education, tourism promotion, information construction and sustainable development and other fields, so as to share resources and promote the common development of the two geoparks.
