On November 17th, the 38th UNESCO Conference officially approved the new International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP)” as well as pertinent chapters and directions which included all global geoparks to become UNESCO Global Geoparks, which further manifested UNESCO’s will to protect and sustainably utilize these geosites of significant international value. In the meantime, it also marked the official birth of the new mark of “UNESCO Global Geoparks”.
