2022 Circum-Poyang Lake Bicycle Elite Race (Sanqingshan Stage) was recently held at Sanqingshan UGGp. The event was hosted by the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province and organized by the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau, the People’s Government of Shangrao City, and the Administrative Committee of Sanqingshan UGGp, attracting more than 220 cyclists to participate.
Opening Ceremony – A Wonderful Event Awaits
Leading officials and distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony and sounded the starting horn, including Ning Yuanxi, Level-II Counselor, Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group Dispatched by the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangxi Province; Zhu Meiqing, Vice Mayor of the People’s Government of Shangrao City; Ge Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee of Sanqingshan UGGp; Liu Gang, Director of the Mass Sports Department, Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau; Xie Huajie, Director of the Shangrao City Global Tourism Development Center; Shen Hongbin, Chairman, General Manager and Secretary-General of Jiangxi Sports Development Co., Ltd. and the Event Organizing Committee; Ye Ruiqing, Level-IV Researcher, Shangrao Municipal Sports Bureau; Wang Qinghui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Sanqingshan Geopark Administrative Committee; Lai Xinwei, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Sanqingshan Geopark Administrative Committee; Mao Hongtao, Executive Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Cycling Association under the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau.
Ning Yuanxi, on behalf of the organizing committee, presented the event flag to Lai Xinwei. Zhu Meiqing announced the start of the race. Ge Jian delivered the welcome speech.
Exciting Race among Mountains and Rivers
The competition consists of three categories: Women’s Mountain Elite Group, Men’s Mountain Elite Group, and Men’s Road Elite Group. The track starts at Immortal Valley and ends at Jinsha National Tourist Resort, with a total length of 30.6 kilometers, covering flat roads, climbs, curves and other types of sections. The winding mountain road at Xiabuling features steep slopes and sharp turns, posing a severe test of riders’ skills and physical endurance.
In early winter, distant mountains, villages, fields and the racing figures of riders complement each other, presenting a vivid scene of “Bikes traveling through scenery, people wandering in paintings”.

Xie Huajie, Liu Gang and Wang Qinghui respectively awarded medals, flowers and prizes to the top three riders in each group. Lai Xinwei, on behalf of the Sanqingshan Stage, returned the event flag. Ning Yuanxi received the flag on behalf of the organizing committee and awarded the plaque of Excellent Competition Area to Sanqingshan, which was received by Wang Qinghui.

The organizing committee strictly implemented epidemic prevention and control measures: 10-day online health monitoring and check-in before the race, full refund and persuasion for participants from medium and high-risk areas, on-site registration review and nucleic acid testing, as well as closed-loop management for riders, so as to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the event.

The Around Poyang Lake Cycling Elite Race is a multi-stage mass cycling event with the longest duration and the most stages in China. Centered on national fitness, this competition promotes the in-depth integration of tourism and sports.
