In order to improve the public's awareness of saving and intensive use of resources and popularize the knowledge of earth science and technology, on the occasion of the 47th World Earth Day, Mount Sanqing World Geopark carried out various publicity activities in Jinsha Visitors Square and Xikeng Primary School around the theme of "saving and intensive use of resources, advocating green and simple life".
The park promotes the concept of geological parks and popularizes earth science knowledge to the public through promotional brochures, exhibition boards, electronic screens in the visitor center, park websites, and WeChat public platforms; Initiate the "Civilized Tourism, Green Travel" signature commitment activity to enhance tourists' sense of responsibility and mission in civilized tourism; Carry out the environmental interactive activity of "exchanging garbage for small gifts when going down the mountain", encourage tourists to voluntarily take their garbage down the mountain, and reduce the pressure on the park environment. On the day of the event, tourists actively participated and fulfilled their commitment to "civilized tourism and green travel", turning tourism into a vivid lesson of civilization.
In the afternoon, Mount Sanqing Park, together with the friendly park, Spain's Vyolcas Ibor Hara Geopark, entered Xikeng Central Primary School to hold Earth Day and the theme exhibition of "Taking You to Mount Sanqing World Geopark", science popularization class of "The 47th World Earth Day · Mount Sanqing World Geopark", handicraft class of "Creative Old Things, Low Carbon New Life", science popularization volunteer of Mount Sanqing Museum, and other activities. Through interactive activities, the public, especially young people, will enhance their understanding of World Earth Day, so as to improve their awareness of protecting the earth, environment, and the park. Guide the whole society to consciously protect and rationally utilize geological heritage resources, and jointly build green tourism demonstration bases.
