Mount Sanqing Geopark to Longhu Mountain to investigate the construction of geological museum

In order to strengthen the communication between the geoparks, on January 19, the Mount Sanqing World Geopark Administration Bureau and a delegation of six people came to Longhu Mountain to investigate and exchange the construction of the geological museum. The representative of Longhu Mountain Global Geopark Management Bureau gave a detailed introduction to the museum's design concept, engineering exhibition, exhibit collection, investment budget, museum science education characteristics, and some experience and practices during the construction of the museum. The Mount Sanqing World Geopark Administration and the delegation hope to further improve the construction of the Mount Sanqing Geological Museum and improve the grade of the new geological museum in Mount Sanqing World Geopark through working exchanges with network members in the construction of the geological museum.

The Longhu Mountain Geological Museum was completed in 2009, with an exhibition area of over 1200 square meters. It is divided into 10 exhibition areas, including the "Earth Knowledge Corridor", "Longhu Mountain Landform Development History Exhibition Area", "Longhu Mountain Danxia Culture Exhibition Area", "Longhu Mountain Biodiversity Exhibition Area", and "Longhu Mountain Danxia and Domestic and Foreign Danxia Comparison Exhibition Area". It integrates the three functions of collection, exhibition, and scientific research. The exhibition board is illustrated with pictures and text, with more than 1000 physical exhibits such as mineral crystals, rocks, fossils, biological specimens, ancient cliff tombs, Taoist cultural relics, geological research works, as well as park sound, light, electric sand table models, information systems, multimedia projection halls, and research laboratories. Mainly introduce the geological landscape, geological development history, biodiversity, and cultural landscape of the geopark, and provide visitors with geological science popularization and environmental awareness education.
