The early work of Mount Sanqing's application for the World Geopark is progressing smoothly. In mid June, UNESCO experts will visit and evaluate the site. The evaluation results will be reviewed at the subsequent World Geopark Review Conference to finally determine whether Mount Sanqing is awarded the World Geopark.

In 2005, Mount Sanqing officially launched the declaration of the world geopark. At the recommendation meeting of the world geopark declaration units in January 2010, Mount Sanqing stood out from dozens of declaration units and became the only declaration unit of the world geopark in 2012 in China. According to the application requirements, after submitting the application text to the Ministry of Land and Resources and other relevant national ministries and commissions and UNESCO for review, UNESCO decided to send experts to Mount Sanqing for field investigation and assessment. Mount Sanqing's bid for the World Trade Organization has entered a critical sprint stage.
