Xu Xisheng, a distinguished professor of the "Yangtze River Scholar Program" of the Ministry of Education, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Earth Sciences of Nanjing University, and a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, was invited to serve as the chief reporting expert of Mount Sanqing's application for the World Geopark. From April 29 to early May, he carried out field research and investigation activities along the Mount Sanqing GGN experts' investigation and assessment route, and negotiated with geological experts in Jiangxi Province on various matters related to the inspection.

Mainly engaged in the study of crust mantle interaction and lithospheric dynamics in southeastern China, including the study of granite diagenesis and mineralization mechanisms, as well as mantle rock geochemistry. I have published 70 papers in academic journals both domestically and internationally, and won the first prize for scientific and technological progress from the National Education Commission in 1995. In 2004, he was nominated for the first prize of the National Science and Technology Award for Natural Science by the Ministry of Education. In 2004, he was awarded the title of Excellent Geological Science and Technology Worker in Jiangsu Province.
