China’s First Taoist Culture Situational Stage Play the Grand Sanqing to Premiere on April 29

The play consists of six acts, systematically depicting the evolution of Taoism and the millennium-old cultural heritage of Sanqingshan UGGp:

Act 1 Creation of Heaven and Earth:

It uses 200 tons of seawater and simulated heavy rain to recreate the formation of heaven and earth, with a magnificent and spectacular scene.

Act 2 The Sanqing Fudi:

Fairy mountains, divine waters, celestial mist and immortals together portray the sacred realm of Taiqing, creating a state where “self and things are forgotten”.

Act 3 The Oriental Goddess:

Set against the backdrop of Yulian Waterfall, it tells the romantic legend of a young man encountering a goddess bathing, graceful and touching.

Act 4 An Eternal Mystery:

It narrates the folk legend of Emperor Jianwen Zhu Yunwen fleeing to Sanqingshan UGGp and living in seclusion as the first abbot of the Sanqing Temple.

Act 5 Cultural Heritage and Incense:

It reproduces the history of Huaiyu Academy and Zhu Xi’s lectures, showcasing the profound Neo-Confucian heritage of Sanqingshan UGGp.

Act 6 Worshiping Sanqing:

Set on the birthday of Lord Lao Zi, it presents the grand scene of believers’ worship and conveys the philosophical wisdom of “understanding the Tao” and “being content”.Integrating drama, dance, legends and panoramic images, the whole play brings the unique peaks, palaces, stone carvings and folk customs of Sanqingshan UGGp onto the grand stage, creating an extraordinary immersive audio-visual experience.
