On March 19, 2024, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark hosted the second session of the 2024 Sanqing Lecture Series. Huang Suhong, Fourth-level Researcher from Shangrao Municipal Forestry Bureau, delivered the special lecture themed Prevention and Control of Pine Wood Nematode Disease. Cheng Shuibo and Wu Yexin, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Directors of the Geopark Administrative Committee, attended the event.

Supported by pictures and illustrations, the lecturer gave an in-depth yet easy-to-follow presentation covering four core modules: basic introduction to pine wood nematode disease, current epidemic situation, hazards of the disease, and prevention & control targets. She elaborated on the pathogenesis, transmission routes, damage impacts and corresponding prevention measures, combining solid theoretical knowledge with practical field experience. Latest research findings and technological advances in pine wood nematode prevention in recent years were also shared.

The lecture adopted a hybrid venue setup with one main venue at the Administrative Committee and four branch venues across local towns, sub-districts and affiliated group companies. Approximately 600 participants from all in-house departments, stationed institutional units, Xingcai Company, Tourism Development Company, township governments, sub-district offices and administrative villages took part in the training.
