A crack of sky

Here, the two walls stand facing each other, with a narrow gap in between, only 0.7–1 meter wide. Looking up at the blue sky through the gap, it appears as a single line, hence the name 'One-Line Sky.' It is a gorge formed by the strong weathering and erosion of the rock mass along vertical fractures (joints) in the granite caused by water flow and other forces.

Tip: The stone steps at One-Line Sky total 299, which sounds like 'lasting love,' so couples who visit often lock love locks engraved with their names on the chains as a memento.

1. Water and other forces cause strong weathering and erosion on the granite along internal vertical fractures (joints).

2. As weathering and erosion continue, the fractures in the granite gradually widen.

3. This forms a nearly vertical gorge.
