Huaiyu Academy

　　The Huaiyu Academy, located at the eastern foot of Jingang Peak, is as famous as the Four Great Academies in Jiangnan region. It was built in the 7th year of Emperor Taizu in the Song dynasty (974A.D.). Zhu Xi had successively lectured at this academy and had written Yushan Lecture. In 1934, the Huaiyu Academy was burnt down. The reconstructed Huaiyu Academy has an area of 11,872.4 square meters, consisting of a pool, gate, Fangrun Hall, Baode Hall, Chongxian Hall, Zhongshe House and Xinshe House.
