The rock cycle is the process in which rocks on and inside the Earth's surface are continuously transformed and regenerated under natural forces. It is like the Earth's 'metabolism,' allowing three types of rocks to convert into each other without stopping.

岩浆岩浆冷却凝固形成岩浆岩;岩浆岩变质岩等已有岩石被风化、侵蚀、搬运、沉积、压实,变成沉积岩;已有岩石在地下高温、高压及化学流体作用下发生改造,形成变质岩;各类岩石再次深入地下重熔,又变回岩浆。

岩浆这一循环连接了地壳运动、风化侵蚀、物质搬运与成岩作用,不断塑造地表形态、更新地壳物质,是地球最基本、最重要的地质过程之一。

The rock cycle is not just the mutual transformation among rocks, but also an important process of material and energy exchange between Earth's various spheres, closely linking the Earth's interior with the surface.

Magma originates from the upper mantle and cools to form igneous rocks; weathering, erosion, and transportation rely on the combined effects of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere, eventually forming sedimentary rocks; rocks undergo metamorphism under high temperature and pressure underground, and are closely related to crustal movements.

It can be said that the rock cycle is the 'link' of interactions among the crust, mantle, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere, allowing material to continuously cycle within and outside the Earth, vividly reflecting the operation of the Earth's sphere system.
