Huaiyu Mountain Tetrastigma (Tetrastigma hemsleyanum) is a precious medicinal material and a National Geographical Indication Product. Compendium of Materia Medica records it as “cool in nature, slightly sweet and pungent in taste, clearing heat and detoxifying, activating blood and dispelling wind”. The whole herb can be used medicinally. As a rare medicinal plant endemic to China, it is known as the “plant antibiotic” and “king of medicines”.
