Sanqingshan Root Carving takes “Tao follows nature, unity of man and nature” as its core philosophy, adhering to the principle of “30% human work, 70% natural form”. Integrating the essence of Taoism, it is a distinctive school nurtured by Shangrao’s traditional root carving and Sanqingshan’s regional culture, mainly distributed in Zihu Town, Yushan and surrounding areas. Themes include Taoist immortals, Sanqing landscapes, flowers, birds and auspicious beasts, with natural and smooth shapes reflecting the Taoist realm of “non-action”.
