On May 31, 2013, the Lushan UGGp was invited to visit Sanqingshan UGGp, during which the two sides concluded a sister geopark relation.
Lushan UGGp is located in the northern Jiangxi Province, close to the Yangtze River in the north, and next to Poyang Lake in the east. The area of the geopark is 500 square kilometers, with more than 10 thousand people in the main area. The average altitude of mountaintop is 1200 meters. It was included in the world heritage list in 1996, as China’s first "world cultural landscape". It became one of the first batch of the Global Geoparks Network in 2004.

Lushan is famous for the polygenetic composite landform composed of typical quaternary glacial relics of Chinese eastern mountains, and the remains of horst block mountain and metamorphic core complex. Its landform is closely connected with the plant, culture and history. Here, beautiful scenery, lush forests, streams, valleys, mountains, waterfalls and springs are available; Exotic villas of different styles can be found everywhere; Different religions harmoniously coexist. Uninterrupted historical bearing and rich Chinese and Western cultural deposits make it known as the "humanities holy mountain".
