Dali Cangshan UGGp Delegation Visits Sanqingshan UGGp for Exchange and Cooperation The Two Geoparks Establish Sister Geopark Relationship

On April 1, 2021, a 10-member delegation led by Wang Ying, Vice Chairman of the Dali Prefectural Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Sanqingshan UGGp for inspection and exchange. The delegation also included Wang Jianguo, Deputy Director of the Dali Cangshan UGGp Administration, Yang Xuexian, Director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the Dali Prefectural CPPCC, and Chang Jixiong, Deputy Magistrate of Yangbi County, Dali Prefecture. The two sides shared advanced concepts and typical experiences in the protection and management, planning and construction, as well as science education and scientific research of geoparks.

 

Accompanied by Zhou Chong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sanqingshan Scenic Area, and officials from the Geopark Administration, the delegation from Dali Cangshan UGGp conducted on-site inspections of the main area of Sanqingshan UGGp, Sanqingshan Geological Museum, Sanqingshan School, and Immortal Valley Area. They gained a detailed understanding of Sanqingshan’s natural landscapes, biodiversity, tourism development, science education, and other aspects.

During the inspection, the two geoparks signed a friendship and cooperation agreement and officially established a sister geopark relationship. They will conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation in geological heritage management, science education, tourism promotion, information construction, sustainable development and other fields, so as to share resources and promote common development of the geoparks.
