From October 19 to 21, 2020, Tang Chaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of China Leye-Fengshan UGGp, led a delegation to visit and exchange views at Sanqingshan UGGp. The two sides shared advanced concepts and typical experiences in geological heritage protection, science education and scientific research, tourism development and other fields. Wu Hua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Sanqingshan Geopark Administrative Committee, together with leading members including Yang Jingcai, Ye Qingwu and Hu Yaguang, Members of the Party Committee and Deputy Directors of the Administrative Committee, accompanied the visit successively.
On the evening of October 19, Sanqingshan and Tang Chaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Leye-Fengshan, jointly signed a friendship and cooperation agreement, officially establishing a sister geopark relationship. The two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in geological heritage protection, management and construction, scientific research and science education, information exchange, publicity and promotion, so as to promote the effective protection of geological heritage resources and the sustainable development of the geoparks.

On October 20, the Sister Geopark Unveiling Ceremony and the Symposium on the Construction and Management of Sanqingshan and Leye-Fengshan UGGps were held at the Sanqingshan Geological Museum. At the symposium, the delegation watched a special feature film on the progress of Sanqingshan UGGp. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and shared management experience on geopark expansion, planning and construction, geological heritage protection, brand building and promotion, and museum management.

The delegation also conducted on-site inspections of the Geopark’s main area, Sanqingshan Geological Museum, Sanqingshan Smart Tourism Command Center, Immortal Valley Area, and the beautiful Baqi Village. They gained a detailed understanding of Sanqingshan’s geological resources, biodiversity, geopark planning and tourism development projects. The delegation stated that Sanqingshan’s breathtaking natural landscapes, rich and diverse geological landforms, and effective protection and management had left a deep impression on them. They highly praised Sanqingshan’s work in area management, infrastructure construction, geological heritage protection, socio-economic development and earth science education.

Museum Visit
Sanqingshan will take this communication and exchange as an opportunity to further strengthen tourism and promotion cooperation with its sister geopark, focus on geological heritage protection, scientific research and science education, external exchanges and other work, and continuously improve the construction and management level of the geopark.
