From October 30 to November 2, 2023, the 2023 Annual Conference of China UNESCO Global Geoparks was held at Yimengshan UGGp in Shandong Province. Sanqingshan UGGp attended the conference.

Under the theme “Exchange for Improvement, Innovation for Development”, the annual conference gathered more than 140 delegates and experts from 50 geoparks across China to jointly discuss development strategies. At the conference, experts interpreted the evaluation criteria and key points of operation management for UNESCO Global Geoparks. Many geoparks shared practical experience in construction and management, scientific research and science education, community development, and other fields. The conference also confirmed that the 2024 annual conference will be hosted by Xingyi UGGp in Guizhou Province, with the conference flag handover ceremony completed.

The Sanqingshan UGGp delegation participated in the entire agenda, engaged in in-depth exchanges with peers and experts, and shared its experience in geological heritage protection and standardized management. Meanwhile, it focused on learning advanced practices in revalidation preparation and community collaborative development, accumulating valuable references for the geopark’s high-quality development and subsequent evaluation work.
