Recently, "2012 Global Geopark International intensive summer training school" was held in the Lesvos island, Greek, Sanqingshan, as the only unit invited in China, participated in the full courses, and the course of Sanqingshan UGGp was explained and demonstrated in English in the practice training course, and was highly concerned and appreciated by the peer.
The training attracted the global geopark managers and experts from a total of 12 countries including China, Greece, France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Argentina and other countries. The themes of the training were “conservation and management of natural heritage, sustainable development of tourism and the local economy", as well as 6 topics including the earth culture promotion and geopark management, evaluation method for management of geopark and activity, the future of geopark, which had important reference value and enlightenment for conservation and management of the Sanqingshan UGGp and the world natural heritage.
During the training period, Sanqingshan UGGp also signed a Letter of Intent for Friendly Geopark Cooperation with Lesvos Petrified Forest Geopark in Greece, laying a solid foundation for the Geopark to integrate into the international cooperation platform of UNESCO Global Geoparks.
