From May 11 to 14, 2012, Sanqing Mountain Geopark sent personnel to the Unzen Volcano World Geopark in Nagasaki, Japan, to participate in the Fifth UNESCO International Geoparks Conference. 

The conference was attended by 87 world geoparks from 27 countries around the world. The meeting was hosted by the UNESCO Executive Board, with the theme of 'Earth Heritage and Sustainable Development.' During the conference, the Sanqing Mountain World Geopark delegation made full use of the conference platform to extensively promote the Sanqing Mountain Geopark brand through display boards, distribution of materials, and media coverage. 

After the conference, under the guidance of relevant experts, the Sanqing Mountain Geopark delegation met with Executive Board expert Mr. Nicholas and proactively introduced the recent heritage protection and science popularization research work carried out by Sanqing Mountain Geopark. Their efforts received high praise from the expert and laid the groundwork for expert communication in preparation for the upcoming on-site assessment by UNESCO experts.
