On May 15-16, the 2014 Annual Conference of China UNESCO Global Geoparks was successfully held in China Shennongjia UGGp. Representatives from 28 UGGps in China, 6 candidate sites for the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, and land and resources authorities of 17 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions attended the meeting. Sanqingshan UGGp also attended the conference.
At the meeting, the development progress of China's UNESCO Global Geoparks in 2013 was reported, and the key work for geopark development in 2014 was scientifically arranged. Shennongjia and Yanqing, new members of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, respectively introduced the basic situation of their construction, development and management. Five geoparks including Xingwen UGGp delivered keynote speeches on experience exchange at the conference, focusing on the meeting theme of "Cooperation, Exchange and Sustainable Development".
During the conference, Sanqingshan UGGp participated in the inauguration ceremony of Shennongjia UGGp and the tree-planting activity of the "Global Geopark Development Forest", planting a public welfare tree on behalf of Sanqingshan UGGp.
