On September 10-11, the 29th Annual Conference of the Tourism Geoscience and Geoparks Research Committee of the Geological Society of China, together with the Symposium on the Construction and Tourism Development of Yanqing UGGp, was held in Yanqing. More than 200 delegates and distinguished guests from 27 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan gathered at Yanqing UGGp of China, holding high-level dialogues on the construction and management of global geoparks, tourism geoscience research and tourism development. The Sanqingshan UGGp sent the representatives to attend the symposium
A total of 15 conference presentations were delivered at the event. Experts and scholars attending the meeting jointly summarized research achievements in tourism geoscience, reviewed the 10-year development experience of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, and held a special discussion on the construction and management of Yanqing UGGp of China. They also explored new directions for the development of tourism geoscience, new ideas for the publicity and popularization of geoscientific knowledge, as well as new models for win win progress between geopark construction and local economic development. Sanqingshan UGGp participated in the symposium throughout the whole process. Its representatives exchanged views with attending experts and scholars on the construction and management of the geopark. After joining the inauguration ceremony of Yanqing UGGp, they conducted a field inspection of the geopark to gain a firsthand understanding of its management practices.
