The Jiangxi Agricultural University (JAU) is a high-level, distinctive "Double First-Class" university in Jiangxi Province. With a history dating back to 1905, it is authorized to confer doctoral degrees.

 

Covering an area of 16,000 mu, the JAU has 17 teaching units, 9 first-level doctoral programs, 21 first-level master’s programs, and 5 postdoctoral research stations, covering 9 discipline categories: agriculture, science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, education and art. It has more than 26,000 full-time students and over 1,800 faculty and staff members, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

The JAU independently established the first national key laboratory in Jiangxi Province and the only national key laboratory in the pig breeding field in China. It owns 53 scientific research platforms at or above the ministerial and provincial levels, and has formed distinctive disciplinary advantages in domestic pigs, rice, biodiversity conservation and other fields.
