On June 16, Sanqingshan UGGp invited Dr. Xu Kejian from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) to conduct the 2021 Scientific Educational Activities at Sanqingshan School and Jiangxi Economic Management Cadre College.

During the event, Dr. Xu delivered a keynote report titled “The Relationship Between Natural Heritage and Geoparks”. More than 150 students from both institutions attended the lecture. Using a wealth of images and examples, Dr. Xu introduced the students to extensive knowledge about UNESCO Global Geoparks and World Natural Heritage sites, as well as information on the development and conservation of these sites in China. The presentation was both insightful and accessible, making complex concepts easy to understand. The students listened attentively, actively interacted with Dr. Xu, and enthusiastically shared their thoughts, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. An interactive Q&A session was also held, where students received Sanqingshan souvenirs and tickets as prizes.

This activity not only deepened the students’ understanding of UGGps and World Natural Heritage sites but also helped them recognize that natural resources are not only national treasures but also belong to the world, and that protecting them is the duty and responsibility of every citizen.
