On the evening of June 14, the eighth session of the Mount Sanqing Forum on the protection and management of the World Geopark from the perspective of UNESCO opened in Mount Sanqing. Xu Kejian, a doctor from the School of Humanities, Economics and Management of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), deputy director and secretary-general of the Tourism Science Popularization Professional Committee of the China Popular Science Writers Association, and an expert in evaluation of Mount Sanqing, was invited to bring a feast of ideas and wisdom to the cadres and workers of Sanqing Mountain. Yang Jing, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Scenic Area, presided over the grand lecture.

Dr. Xu talked about the relationship between the world geopark and culture, education, science and sustainable development around what is the geopark, the distribution area of the world geopark network, and excellent cases of park management at home and abroad, and gave specific measures and suggestions on the reassessment of Mount Sanqing. The new and lively courses broadened the vision of the participants and yielded a lot.

Through this forum, we have gained a more comprehensive understanding of the current reassessment of the World Geopark and the Mount Sanqing World Geopark, laid a good foundation for the next step of the UNESCO World Geopark expert assessment and inspection, and helped to promote the Mount Sanqing World Geopark to pass the UNESCO reassessment.
