From February 18 to 19, Ge Jian, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Sanqingshan UGGp, and Wang Qinghui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee, led a Party and government delegation to conduct study and research in Huangshan City, Wuyuan County and other areas. Ye Jianqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Huangshan Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Huangshan UGGp; Zhang Dehui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Huangshan Tourism Development Co., Ltd.; Wei Xiuhui, Deputy Director of the Huangshan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism; and Zhou Huabing, Deputy Secretary of the Wuyuan County Party Committee and County Magistrate, accompanied the delegation during the visit.

In Huangshan City, Ge Jian, Wang Qinghui and their entourage successively visited and studied Liyang In Alley, Huashan World Theme Park, Huangshan UGGp and other sites. At each location, the delegation carefully listened to the introductions and gained a detailed understanding of project planning and construction, operation and management, marketing and other aspects. They fully affirmed the good experiences and practices emerged in Huangshan’s efforts to promote all-for-one tourism development. Walking in Liyang In Alley, they admired the mottled old walls and blue stone flag paths integrated with many modern elements, and spoke highly of the block’s distinctive features and functional layout.

The delegation also visited a number of high-quality homestays in Yi County, Huangshan City, including Wumingchu Boutique Homestay, Guanlu Tent Lodge Homestay, Pingshan Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Town, and Huangshan Weixiyuan · Huaichuan Hotel.

Through on-site inspections, briefings and discussions on development, the delegation gained a detailed understanding of the design concepts, brand attraction, operation models and future goals of the high-quality homestays in Yi County, Huangshan City. They also exchanged views on how to develop distinctive homestays based on their own advantages. The delegation pointed out that Yi County has integrated landscape culture, creativity and innovation into the development of its homestay industry, taking ancient residences and buildings as the carrier and rural scenery as the background, effectively promoting the integrated development of the homestay industry.

Sanqingshan UGGp will carefully summarize the advanced experience and successful practices of high-end homestays, and in light of the actual conditions of the Geopark, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of all-for-one tourism in Sanqingshan UGGp.

At the symposium, Ge Jian pointed out that Huangshan City is a renowned international tourist city and a key city rich in tourism resources at both national and provincial levels. In recent years, Huangshan Tourism has stepped out of the comfort zone of ticket economy, developed all-for-one tourism, and formulated the development strategies of "Mountains, Waters, Villages and Caves" and "Tourism Plus". It has clarified the implementation path of "horizontal expansion of traditional businesses and vertical development of emerging businesses", and deeply promoted the integrated development of culture and tourism in Huangshan City. Meanwhile, focusing on building "Two Major Huangshans", Huangshan strives to become a world-class tourism flagship enterprise.

Sanqingshan UGGp will take the "Huangshan Experience" as its benchmark and model, earnestly learn new concepts and ideas from Huangshan’s tourism development, and translate its effective practices and experience into strategies and measures for building "Brand Sanqing, Diversified Sanqing, High-Quality Sanqing, Clean Sanqing and Happy Sanqing", so as to accelerate the high-quality and leapfrog development of the tourism industry in Sanqingshan UGGp. He also expressed hope that the two areas will further strengthen communication and contacts, enhance personnel exchanges, deepen cooperation plans, and join hands to create a new situation for the Geopark development.

At the meeting, the two sides also held in-depth exchanges on tourism marketing, area management, comprehensive law enforcement and other related issues.

In Wuyuan County, Ge Jian, Wang Qinghui and the delegation from Sanqingshan Global Geopark visited Huangling, Jiangwan Area, Moon Bay Tourism Park, Wuyuanzhou Hui-style Culture & Tourism Town, Houtang Manor and other sites. They listened to detailed introductions on the development of tourism, homestays and other industries in Wuyuan, and carefully studied its experience and practices in developing rural tourism.

The delegation noted that Wuyuan has adhered to holistic planning and panoramic development, forming a tourism model covering all spaces, industries, time periods and processes. This has achieved comprehensive improvements in tourism formats, urban and rural environments, visitor experience, public benefits and brand image. 

Its practices and experience are worth learning and drawing on. It is hoped that the two regions will further deepen mutual understanding and friendship, strengthen communication, exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and jointly promote the high-quality and leapfrog development of the tourism industries of both sides.

Wisdom from others may polish one’s own achievements. This study tour has provided valuable references for Sanqingshan UGGp to broaden its vision, renew its concepts and clarify its development path.
