Sanqingshan Xikeng Central Primary School

Sanqingshan Xikeng Central Primary School is located in Shangxikeng Village, Sanqing Township. As a public school rooted in the mountainous area and serving local communities, it is part of the education system of Sanqingshan UGGp. It mainly undertakes the mission of compulsory primary education for school-age children in Shangxikeng Village and surrounding areas, supporting the growth of students at the foot of Sanqingshan with quality education.

The school has a large campus covering over 12,000 square meters, with a school building area of approximately 4,040 square meters. The campus features an elegant and pleasant environment, where green landscapes complement teaching buildings. It is fully equipped with educational facilities, including standard classrooms, multipurpose activity rooms and modern teaching equipment, creating a favorable learning and living environment for teachers and students.

Relying on the unique geographical advantages of Sanqingshan UGGp, the school deeply engages in local cultural education and integrates the spectacular natural ecology and profound humanistic heritage of Sanqingshan into its daily teaching system. Through classroom teaching, outdoor practice, science educaiton activities and other forms, the school subtly cultivates students’ love for their hometown and awareness of ecological protection, guides them to explore the geological mysteries of Sanqingshan, and fosters an environmental philosophy of conserving resources and jointly building a beautiful homeland.

The school’s international exchanges and local popular science activities are distinctive. In July 2015, marking the 70th anniversary of UNESCO and the 30^th anniversary of China’s accession to the World Heritage Convention, 23 international youth volunteers for world heritage from 8 countries and regions including the UK, France, Spain and South Korea visited Xikeng Primary School in Sanqingshan to carry out the “International Volunteer Tour of World Heritage Sites in Sanqingshan”, which was the second stop of the international volunteer program. This exchange opened a window of international vision for students and promoted the integration and interaction between Chinese and foreign cultures.

In addition, every year Sanqingshan UGGp cooperates with the school to carry out a series of science popularization activities, ranging from popularizing geological knowledge and promoting local culture to ecological practice experiences. These activities fully stimulate children’s interest in exploring the geological science of Sanqingshan, help students deeply understand and love their hometown, practice ecological protection responsibilities as they grow, and jointly safeguard the beautiful future of Sanqingshan.
