Sanqingshan Kindergarten Marks the 53rd World Earth Day with Special Activities

22-Apr-2022 00:00

On April 22, 2022, the date of the 53rd World Earth Day, Sanqingshan Kindergarten launched a series of themed activities under the slogan Protect the Environment, Everyone’s Responsibility.

During the event, teachers of each class adopted age-appropriate teaching methods. With vivid pictures and videos, they explained the origin and significance of World Earth Day to children, encouraging all kids to fight the pandemic hand in hand, safeguard the planet, cherish and protect the environment, and strive to become little anti-epidemic & environmental guardians.

To maximize the effectiveness of environmental education, the kindergarten arranged differentiated activities for three age groups: senior, middle and junior classes.

·        The senior class centered on the theme The Earth is Our Home. Through fun quizzes and role-play interactions, teachers guided children to understand the planet and foster the awareness of jointly protecting Mother Earth.

·        The middle class held the activity Paint Earth with Tiny Hands. Children picked up paintbrushes to integrate their affection for the earth and environmental concepts into paintings, expressing their commitment to ecological protection with creative artwork.

·        The junior class focused on the Clear Your Plate Campaign, advocating kids to put an end to food waste on the dining table, carry forward China’s fine traditional virtue of diligence and frugality, and practice environmental protection starting with saving food.

·

On the very day of the event, Sanqingshan Kindergarten released a World Earth Day initiative, calling on all adults and children to Act Together amid the Pandemic to Defend Our Home.
