June 11, 2022 marked China’s 6th Cultural and Natural Heritage Day under the official theme: Cooperatively Conserve World Natural Heritage and Jointly Build a Living Planet. To further showcase the unique features and values of World Natural Heritage and protected areas, as well as raise public awareness of nature and environmental conservation, Sanqingshan rolled out a series of themed science popularization activities for the 2022 Heritage Day.

The opening ceremony took place at Jinsha Tourist Square with relevant officials from Shangrao Municipal Government and Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark in attendance, presided over by Wang Qinghui, Director of the Geopark Administrative Committee. On-site arrangements included an exhibition on Sanqingshan World Natural Heritage, message wall and prize-winning quiz interactions. Promotional leaflets and guidebooks about Sanqingshan World Natural Heritage were distributed free of charge to popularize knowledge concerning World Heritage and the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, alongside complimentary Sanqingshan souvenirs and tickets for main area.

Inside Sanqingshan Geological Museum, science interpreters hosted a live-streamed Virtual Tour of Sanqingshan via TikTok and other livestream platforms, introducing viewers to granite landforms along the Western Pacific margin, the Earth’s nearly 800-million-year evolutionary history, and information on rare and endangered flora and fauna.

From June 11 to 17, multi-channel publicity featuring LED screens, banners and display boards was deployed across key heritage sites including scenic zones, the geological museum, school administration centers and hotels, creating a strong promotional atmosphere.
