On June 6, teachers and students of Grade 10 from Tsinghua University High School and teachers and students of Grade 7 from the Xiong’an Campus of Beijing No.4 High School arrived at Sanqingshan UGGp in separate groups to carry out a study tour themed on geological and geomorphological investigation and cultural practice.

During the activity, teachers and students from both schools conducted a field investigation of the granite peak forest landscapes in the geopark, focusing on such iconic scenic spots as Python Slithers out of Mountain and Oriental Goddess, and analyzed their formation mechanisms based on geological principles. Teachers and students from Tsinghua University High School integrated knowledge of geography, biology, history and other subjects into practice. Under the guidance of teachers, students from the Xiong’an Campus of Beijing No.4 High School learned about the history of Earth’s evolution and the Taoist cultural connotation of the geopark.

Sanqingshan UGGp boasts the most densely distributed and most diverse granite micro-landforms in the world, making it a key area for studying the formation and evolution of granite peak forests. In recent years, relying on its advantages in natural and cultural resources, the geopark has continuously received schools from all over the country for on-site research and study activities.
