April 22, 2015 marked the 46th World Earth Day. The Administrative Bureau of Sanqingshan UGGp carried out a series of science popularization activities targeting tourists and students under the theme of “Cherish Earth Resources & Transform Development Modes — Improve Resource Utilization Efficiency”.

First, distribute questionnaires and publicity brochures at Jinsha Service Area and Waishuangxi Service Area, and conduct on-site science education lectures to enhance public awareness of the importance of geological resources and their voluntary protection.

Second, the park invited Professor Li Zhongdong from the Sichuan Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources to deliver classroom-based popular science lectures in plain, easy-to-understand language, helping students recognize the geological value of Sanqingshan and consciously follow the principle of “Being Young Guardians of Sanqingshan UGGp”.

Over 200 questionnaires and publicity brochures were distributed during this event. Nearly 100 students from two central primary schools participated in museum visits and science education lectures. The event fostered a strong atmosphere of resource conservation in the Geopark.
