Shuisili (Pyrus shuili): A species unique to China, listed as a Class III key protected wild plant in Jiangxi Province. An evergreen tree, with leaves that are entire or have several small teeth above the middle; monoecious, with red and yellow anthers; capsule nearly spherical. Flowering period is from April to May; fruiting period is from November to December. Suitable as an ornamental garden tree; the wood can be used for cultivating shiitake mushrooms or for construction and carving, and the resin can be used medicinally.
