Ginkgo: Belongs to the Ginkgoaceae family and the Ginkgo genus, a deciduous tree. Leaves are fan-shaped, with dichotomous venation, growing singly or in clusters; dioecious, male flowers in catkin-like inflorescences. A living fossil plant, a relict species from the Mesozoic, endemic to China. Grows at the edges of villages.
