Striped Limestone

Calcareous rock, also called limestone, is a common sedimentary rock with calcite as its main ingredient. It is a kind of soluble rock which forms spectacular karst landform. Besides this, it is also the main raw materials of construction stone, lime and cement, etc.

The limestone here was formed in the Cambrian Period about 540 million years ago. It is named Striped Limestone because of its grayish black and white stripes.
