Leye-Fengshan UGGp, China

From October 19 to 21, 2020, Leye-Fengshan UGGp visited Sanqingshan UGGp for exchange. During this period, the two sides became sister geoparks, which will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of geological heritage conservation, management and construction, scientific research and science education, information exchange, publicity and promotion, and promote the effective protection of geological heritage resources and the sustainable development of the Geoparks.

Leye-Fengshan UGGp is located in the slope zone of the transition from Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to Guangxi Basin in the northwest of Guangxi Province, China. It is composed of Leye Dashiwei Tiankeng Group National Geopark in Baise and Fengshan Karst National Geopark. It was selected as a member of the GGN in 2010. Two underground river systems are developed in the typical massive karst area of the Geopark, forming a mature peak cluster landform. It has the world's largest Tiankeng group, the most concentrated cave hall group, skylight group, the largest span Tiansheng bridge, typical cave sediments, the most complete skull fossils of early giant panda races, and the animal and plant diversity preserved by the unique Tiankeng ecological environment, such as Tiankeng plant community, Buliu River Valley forest community, the hometown of orchids and cave animal communities in China have important scientific research value and high aesthetic value. In addition, the special geological background provides a good living environment for the local people, and the integration of multiple nationalities has formed a unique minority folk culture.
