Jiuhuashan UGGp, Anhui

In March 2022, our geopark established a sister geopark relationship with Anhui Jiuhuashan UGGp. Since then, both sides have carried out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in various fields including geological heritage conservation, scientific research, and science education, jointly promoting the development of the global geopark cause.

Jiuhuashan UGGp is located in Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It features distinct and spectacular granitic composite plutons, large-scale granitic fault-block landforms, and unique fluid-rich granite crystalline structures. It also possesses a complete "peak-hill-basin" geomorphic system. The towering granite peaks rise abruptly with varied shapes, forming a natural wonder integrating mountains, waters, caves and rocks, and is renowned as "the most beautiful scenery in the south of the Yangtze River". The geopark is covered by diverse northern subtropical vegetation, boasting an excellent natural environment and profound Buddhist cultural heritage, making it a model of integration between natural and cultural landscapes. Its unique granite mountain landform was shaped by well-developed vertical joints, long-term rain erosion, weathering and other external forces. The landscape of exotic peaks and steep cliffs is of great scientific research and aesthetic value.
