In September 2015, Sanqingshan UGGp attended the 4th Asia Pacific Geoparks Symposium held at San'in Kaigan UGGp in Japan, and took an active part in delivering speeches at the conference.

 

It shared and discussed experience and practices in the construction and development of the geopark with representatives from various countries, further strengthened exchanges and communication with geoparks both internationally and domestically, enhanced friendship among geoparks, and raised its international visibility and influence. In addition, the delegation conducted a field inspection of the scientific interpretation system, community participation, science education and other work at San'in Kaigan UGGp.

 

It is reported that the Asia Pacific Geoparks Network (APGN) is a network organization of global geoparks in the Asia-Pacific region, under the purview of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Bureau. Themed "Geoparks – Network Exchange and Society", the conference witnessed the official approval of Dunhuang Geopark (Gansu) and Zhijindong Geopark (Guizhou) as new members of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.

 

Zheng Xiaofang, Deputy Director of Sanqingshan Geopark Administrative Committee, exchanged views on geopark conservation and management with Nicholas Zouros, an expert from the UNESCO Global Geopark Network Executive Board. Sanqingshan was officially inscribed on the UNESCO Global Geopark List in 2012, making it holding three top international and national brands: World Natural Heritage, Global Geopark, and a National 5A Tourist Attraction.
