On October 27-28, 2020, the 2020 China UNESCO Global Geoparks Annual Conference was held in Bazhong, Sichuan Province. More than 200 people, including representatives from 41 global geoparks and their authorities, geopark experts, and scholars, attended the meeting. Representatives from Sanqingshan Global Geopark attended the meeting.

The meeting was guided by the Nature Reserve Management Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Sichuan Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau, hosted by the National Geopark Network Center, the World Geopark Network Office, and the Bazhong Municipal People's Government, and organized by the Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark Administration. Liu Yuan, Inspector of the Nature Reserve Management Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and Professor Jin Xiaochi, Vice Chairman of the World Geopark Network Executive Bureau, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony; Zheng Yuan, Director of the Office of the National Geopark Network Center, delivered the annual report on the development of China's World Geopark Network; Huangshan Global Geopark, Danxia Mountain Global Geopark, and Lushan Global Geopark shared practical experiences in multi-brand integrated development, tourism market recovery, and nature science education; Guangwushan-Nuoshuihe Global Geopark shared its construction achievements since being selected as a global geopark; Zhangye Global Geopark and Xiangxi Global Geopark, as newly recognized Global Geoparks, shared their experiences in creation and application work; Longyan Geopark and Xingyi Geopark introduced the application progress as candidate sites. The conference also decided that the 2021 China UNESCO Global Geopark Annual Conference would be hosted by Xiangxi Global Geopark.

During the meeting, representatives of Sanqingshan Global Geopark earnestly studied the latest requirements for the management and construction, application, and re-evaluation of World Geoparks. Next, Sanqingshan Global Geopark will actively practice the development philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," deepen exchanges and cooperation with other global geoparks, achieve the sharing of resources, talent, and experience, and contribute to local socio-economic development.
