From April 26 to 28, 2021, the unveiling of the Yimengshan World Geopark and the Seminar on the Construction and Development of World Geoparks was held at Yimengshan World Geopark. To continuously strengthen cooperation and exchange among world geoparks, and to learn from each other’s experience in management and protection, representatives from Sanqingshan World Geopark attended this seminar.  

The seminar was guided by the Department of Nature Reserves of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources, hosted by the Linyi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Linyi Municipal People's Government, and organized by the National Geopark Network Center, the Linyi Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, and other relevant units, lasting for three days.  

The seminar, themed "Seize New Development Opportunities, Share the Benefits of Green Development," conducted geological academic discussions. Experts and geopark managers, including Zhao Zhizhong, Zheng Yuan, Zhang Zhiguang, Cai Yinlu, Zhang Jianping, Gao Xueyu, Wang Shuilin, and Li Feng, gave reports on topics such as the application and evaluation of world geoparks, the organizational structure related to the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, the protection and development of geological sites, community involvement, and sustainable development. During the meeting, representatives from Sanqingshan World Geopark actively communicated their experiences and practices with other park representatives, experts, and scholars, and engaged in lively discussions on geopark protection management and reevaluation work.  

During the field visit, the representatives from Sanqingshan World Geopark inspected the Yimengshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, Yimengshan World Geopark Museum, Rural Revitalization College, and Daigu Geological Museum, learning about Yimengshan World Geopark’s advanced practices in interpretation signage systems, geological site conservation, and infrastructure construction. They also gained valuable experience in the operation, management, protection, construction, science popularization, and sustainable local tourism of Yimengshan World Geopark, which provided certain reference value for the management and construction of Sanqingshan World Geopark.
