Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Geological Survey and Exploration
The Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Geological Survey was established in 1998 and was once a provincial-level geological scientific research institution with independent legal person status. It has completed the 1:200,000 regional geological survey of the whole province, and carried out the 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 regional geological surveys; it has presided over and participated in the compilation of Regional Geological Records of Jiangxi Province, Mineral Records of Jiangxi Province and Environmental Records of Jiangxi Province. It has successively presided over and completed the construction of national and world-class geoparks such as Longhushan, Sanqingshan and Wugongshan, as well as the geological and geomorphological investigation, scientific demonstration and text compilation of Sanqingshan and Longhushan World Natural Heritage.
In 2021, in accordance with the unified deployment of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province for deepening the reform of public institutions, the former Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Geological Survey was integrated with 9 units including Jiangxi Provincial Monitoring Station of Geological Environment, Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Nuclear Industry Geological Survey, Jiangxi Nonferrous Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Institute, and Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Coalfield Geological Survey to form Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Geological Survey and Exploration, which continues to undertake basic, public welfare and strategic regional geological survey and other work.
