No. 8 Geological Brigade of Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Geology

The No. 8 Geological Brigade of Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Geology is a public welfare Class II institution at the county level affiliated to Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Geology, located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It was established on October 18, 2021, through the integration of the former Northeast Jiangxi Brigade of Jiangxi Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources (founded in 1956), the former No. 268 Brigade of Jiangxi Provincial Nuclear Industry Geology Bureau (founded in 1969), and the former No. 4 Jiangxi Nonferrous Geological Exploration Team (founded in 1977).

The No. 8 Geological Brigade undertakes basic, public welfare and strategic geological work; provides geological technical services such as hydrogeology, engineering geology, environmental geology, geological disaster investigation and prevention, surveying, mapping and geographic information, and test and analysis; offers engineering services including highway engineering, municipal engineering, building construction engineering and bridge engineering; serves the construction of ecological civilization, and provides strong technical support for ecological environmental protection and restoration, territorial space planning and other fields. It is a comprehensive geological exploration unit with strong strength, comprehensive technical force and remarkable achievements in geological prospecting.

The brigade currently has 936 on-the-job staff, including 551 professional and technical personnel of various types, among whom 10 are senior researchers (professor-level), 145 are associate senior researchers, and 256 are intermediate-level professionals.
