Jiangxi Institute of Land and Space Survey and Planning is a public welfare institution under the administration of the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangxi Province.

Officially established in January 2021, it was formed through the integration of several former institutions, including the Institute of Land and Resources Survey and Planning, Jiangxi, the General Institute of Urban and Rural Planning and Design, Jiangxi, and the Academy of Forest Inventory and Planning, Jiangxi.

It is mainly responsible for the survey of mountains, waters, forests, farmlands, lakes and grasslands, as well as research on the unified national land and space planning.

The institute is equipped with two major scientific and technological innovation platforms: the Engineering Technology Innovation Center for Ecological Protection and Restoration of Land and Space in Great Lake Basins under the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Poyang Lake Basin Ecological Protection Redline Field Scientific Observation and Research Station.

It has achieved remarkable scientific research outcome, successively winning the First Prize of the 2024 Natural Resources Science and Technology Progress Award and the Second Prize of the 2025 Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Association of Geographic Information Industry.
