To further explore the cultural connotation of the Geopark’s natural landscapes and build a tourism brand featuring “Harmony between Nature and Culture”, Sanqingshan UGGp officially launches a naming contest for its pictographic rocks, openly soliciting creative names from the public.

Sanqingshan UGGp is known as “Hometown of Clouds and Mist, Kingdom of Fantastic Rocks”. It boasts a typical granite peak forest landscape and abundant pictographic rock resources. From Python Rising from the Mountain to Penguin Offering Peaches, every fantastic rock showcases the extraordinary craftsmanship of nature. This event aims to deeply integrate natural wonders with humanistic spirit through public participation, and endow Sanqingshan’s pictographic rocks with new cultural vitality through creativity.

Submission Period: August 29 – September 30, 2025

Review & Evaluation: October 8 – October 12, 2025

Result Announcement: October 13 – October 19, 2025

II. How to Participate

(I) Creation Requirements

Participants shall take photos or videos of pictographic rocks in Sanqingshan UGGp and propose names for them. Names must reflect the morphological features of the rocks and integrate natural culture, regional characteristics or the spirit of the times. Each name must be accompanied by a written explanation of at least 50 words, stating the reasons, cultural connotation and implication, to ensure the name is interpretable and communicable.

(III) Submission Rules

Each participant may submit naming works for up to 3 different pictographic rocks. The same work shall not be submitted repeatedly. Once submitted, the organizer shall have the right to publicize, display and use the works (for non-commercial purposes only).

III. Incentive Mechanism

Thirty finalists will be selected in this event. Each winner will be awarded 2,000 RMB (pre-tax) and an honorary certificate. The outstanding naming works will be used for scenic spot signs, cultural and creative product development, as well as publicity and promotion.

The Geopark stated that it hopes through this event to attract more people to pay attention to Sanqingshan’s geological heritage resources, use creativity to tell Sanqingshan’s natural stories, and jointly spread the unique charm of oriental landscapes.
