On October 26th, the 32nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the Third People's Congress of Shangrao City listened and deliberated on the "Proposal for Designating the 'City Tree' and 'City Flower' of Shangrao City" submitted by the Municipal People's Government. The decision was: "The camphor tree" is designated as the "City Tree" of Shangrao City; "Sanqing Rhododendron" and "Camellia" are jointly designated as the "City Flowers" of Shangrao City.

The Rhododendron trees in Sanqing Mountain have a lifespan of over a thousand years. Before blooming, they go through a process similar to "pregnancy for ten months". The Rhododendrons here bloom in late May every year, and by the time the flowers wither, new flower buds will sprout. By the end of May or early June of the following year, they will bloom again, which is exactly ten months of gestation.
